How to use:
1. Check whether the object is charged:
Touch the object to be inspected with the metal ball on the electroscope. If the metal foil of the electroscope is opened, the object is charged; if the metal foil is not opened, the object is not charged.

2. Check whether the object is positively or negatively charged:
First let the metal foil of the electroscope carry a known charge (positive charge becomes negative charge), make the foil open at a certain angle, and then move the object to be inspected close to the metal ball of the electroscope, but do not touch, if the foil The sheet opening angle is thus increased, and the new charge of the object is the same as that of the electroscope; if the foil opening angle is thus reduced. Then the electric charge of the object and that of the electroscope are heterogeneous charges.

Maintenance and precautions
1. To prevent the instrument from violent vibration, so as not to damage the ring glass.
2. Charge the electroscope. If the foil does not open, it is mostly due to poor insulation. Before use, wipe the insulator with a soft dry cloth. Due to the influence of dust and humidity, the insulation performance will be destroyed. Do not use your hands after wiping. Contact, because the sweat on the hands will reduce the insulation performance, if the experiment is unsuccessful. When the instrument is seriously damped, use a dryer to dry the instrument, but the drying humidity should not exceed 50°C.
