Vertical motor principle demonstrator

Product Introduction
The instrument is designed according to the principle that the energized coil rotates in the magnetic field and the closed coil rotates in the magnetic field to generate current. The instrument is composed of "U" shaped bracket, armature, magnet, collector ring, brush, base, upper cover of mobile phone, etc.
The electric brush (6) is a rectangular multi turn coil, which is wrapped on the insulating plastic frame. The two ends of the coil are respectively connected to the two copper rings of the collector ring (1), and red and blue indicator lights (9) are connected on both sides of the armature and fixed on the plastic frame. Armature and commutator are installed on the same shaft (8), and the lower end of the shaft supports the "U" type bracket (5).
The "U" shaped bracket is made of ABS injection molding. A permanent magnet (11) is installed at the hollow parts on both sides of the nail, representing the two poles of the "U" shaped magnet.
The upper cover plate is equipped with a pair of terminals (4) and connected with the corresponding brush holder (3), which can be used for installing circuit boards and external power supplies. One end of the brush (2) is installed on the brush holder, and the other end is in contact with the collector ring copper ring, which can move up and down the brush holder to adjust the contact position.

Instructions
1. Demonstrate DC motor; Move the two electric brushes to the middle of the two copper rings of the current collector, and then connect the 4V to 6V DC power supply to the two terminals to conduct the DC motor test. When the input voltage is changed, or the positive and negative poles of the input power are exchanged, the speed or direction of the armature can be changed. If the indicator switch is closed, the red and blue arrows on both sides of the armature can continue to light up, and the arrows at the light point indicate the current flow direction.

2. Demonstrate the DC generator; Move the two electric brushes to the middle of the two copper rings of the collector ring, connect the two terminals to the current of the J0401 demonstration ammeter at 5mA or 100mA, and turn the indicator switch "off" to conduct the DC motor test. If the accessory circuit board is connected to two terminals and the armature is shaken clockwise or anticlockwise, the circuit board will display a red light on, a green light off, a green light on, or a red light off. In this way, the generation and flow direction of DC can be clearly demonstrated.
  1. Make an alternator demonstration: contact the two brushes on the two copper rings of the collector ring respectively, then connect the two terminals to the 5m current of J0401 demonstration ammeter, turn the indicator switch on the "OFF" word, and slowly shake the armature with your hand, then you can use the alternator for experiment.

Product feature and application
This instrument can be used to demonstrate the structure and working principle of DC motor and AC/DC generator in junior high school physics teaching. It is a multi-functional combined demonstration motor. The instrument is novel in design and simple in structure. It adopts a vertical armature structure, with large visibility, intuitive and easy to understand, and good demonstration effect. The instrument uses a permanent magnet as the magnetic pole.

Maintenance and precautions
1. Special attention shall be paid to the fact that the armature will not rotate when conducting motor test through strong current, such as after being energized. Cut off the power supply immediately and check the cause. Do not power on the armature for a long time when it is not rotating to avoid burning the armature.
2. The brush and the copper ring of the collector ring shall be kept clean and in good contact. The contact pressure between the brush and the copper ring shall be appropriate to improve the sensitivity of the armature rotation.
3. When conducting motor test, do not connect the circuit board between two terminals to avoid burning the LED on the circuit board.
4. When conducting DC motor test, if the power on voltage exceeds 6V, do not close the indicator switch to avoid burning the indicator. If the electric ball is burnt, remove the indicator lamp cover from the plastic frame to replace it.
5. When installing two permanent magnets, it should be noted that the color of this sticker (i.e., the magnetic pole) is consistent with the color of the "U" bracket, and the red and blue sides of this sticker should be placed against the red and blue sides respectively. Otherwise, if the two magnetic poles are confused, the experiment cannot be carried out.
6. The instrument shall be stored in a dry place and shall be protected from moisture and dust.
