Experimental contents and methods
1. Sound generation:
(1) Knock tuning fork, steel plate zither, cymbals, small drums, people talking, etc. will make a sound. Press one end of the ruler on the table, and most of the other end will be exposed outside the table. Then wave the ruler up and down, and find that the ruler makes a sound. Put the knocked tuning fork into the water and there will be water splashes to reflect it. The water splashes play a role in the experiment to magnify the small vibration, which shows that the tuning fork is made sound due to vibration, and people speak because of the vibration of the vocal fold.
(2) The sound can be heard by knocking on the steel plate zither, cymbals and eardrum due to vibration. After knocking, the sound will disappear due to the stop of vibration after being covered by hands. People speak because of the vibration of their vocal cords.
The experiment proves that sound is produced by the vibration of objects, and all objects making sound are vibrating.
